Droid RAZR Soon to Get Update: Bug Fixes, Including Camera, Data and More

Im new to the forum guys I got the motor razr and I just received the update. I'm in Raleigh, NC and its 2:37am here now. I haven't seen anything really yet it just updated but ill let you know what I see soon

Just checked my phone, update available. Now to read up on trying to keep root.

611.748.en.US (57.1MB) arrived this morning. Installing now.

How long does this thing take to download? Mine has been going for 3hrs. When I go to update phone it tells me a download is in progress and I will need notified when it finishes. There is no icon in the notification bar or anything.

Guess I'll just have to wait to see when/if I am prompted to install it.

It was me. Appears that you have to be on Wi-Fi for the download to start.

Not really sure. I even asked above if it matters if I am rooted or not. Not sure if I should unroot for any future updates.

You can be rooted and have apps frozen and the update will succeed. You get into trouble by deleting and renaming apps. If you haven't done that you will be good to go.

Just went through the update. Had to re-root after, but no issues.

One thing I really like about the update is that it added a new music player (headphones logo, just called Music). Much better than the crappy My Music default. So I froze My Music and also MotoCast.

I did notice another app added called Verizon Location Agent. I froze that too and I haven't had any issues yet.

That's Google Music. You can stream your music library to your phone without having to store the songs on your device. You can upload 20,000 songs to Google Music for free.
