Droid screen goes blank when I slide it open

Dang it, the same thing started happening to me this week on my refurb which I've had for about two months and was working fine until this. I wonder if it might be kernel related though. I'll try some other kernels and report back if the problem goes away.

My refurb has worked fine ever since. However I never use the slide out keyboard. Pretty much useless to type on if you ask me.

Mine just started doing this same thing. I haven't tried opening ti slowly or anything. Just the screen is on but no backlight. I don't think I can do anything but restart via the power button. I haven't tried unlocking it when the light is out but I will.

Off to Verizon soon I think

It's definitely a hardware problem, specifically a shorted ribbon cable. Lucky for me I had the extended warranty with unlimited replacement refurbs. Now on my 3rd refurb since Jan 2010. I don't mind, they are very quick with the replacement turnaround. Still undecided on when I'll finally jump to Droid3, Bionic or Fascinate2. Probably whichever is rootable!
