>_> why does it seem like people are getting their panties in a bunch. I also thought it was official but to see it was a custom wasn't like OMG YOU RUINED MY DAY.... it was just an "oh ok its custom...cool!" At least its something....
Thanks for the info anyway! I greatly appreciated it!
And although it is **potentially harmful** to your phone. Take it easy.... very rarely does any of the devs push out a program that will make your phone brick to no possible way of recovery. You brick your phone you look up a way to unbrick it... stop making it seem like its going to explode and the chips inside will melt away because you put froyo on it unofficially....
In case anybody bricks their phone doing this, check out the link in my sig for a fix. I don't think this will cause any problems but ya never know. Anyway, I can't wait for this to be released! New lock screen looks much better (among other things).
Updated status on install method, it will have to be done in recovery manual update method. Now would be a good time to figure out how to get into recovery. Also, drop time looks like it is going to be 9AM EST/6AM PST.
1. Turn your phone off.
2. Hold down “Home” and press the “Power” button there at the top. Hold them until the Motorola logo appears
3. Release the “Power” button, but continue to hold the “Home” button until you see an exclamation mark (!)
4. Release the “Home” button and press the “Search” key once (and only once!)
It is a development build from Motorola and gets submitted to VZW for testing, like all builds that don't have glaring problems right from the dev team.
It will have bugs, like all software does.
It is the latest dev build available, but it is not designated for release...yet.
People need to chill out and relax...all the information we have will be made available with the release
That is my point...not that this is a buggy build.
I don't have a DX, so I can't speak personally, but this is purportedly a very nice build.
I doubt the devs are happy with it, but they rarely are and are always under pressure to release earlier than they would like. It's the nature of the business.
This is their best effort so far...and all of you get the opportunity to enjoy it early...IF YOU WANT TO!
