droid x BRICKED!!!

from power off hold the menu button and power till the screen flickers then let go......no boot loader screen?
no bootloader screen i plugged it in and the led turned green(cuz its charging i guess) so maybe its because its dead but nothing happened when i hed menu and power button

And you forgot to press the search key after it turned on! Try this again. Hold Home+power, but once it's on, and just a black screen, press search to bring up stock recovery, then wipe data and cache. Reboot after that.

If that doesn't work, then you definitely need to sbf.

i did this and i booted into recovery? idk how the hell that happened but i dnt wana screw around with it so how from clockworkmod recovery v2.5.0.6 startover from scratch?

Your choice. Reflash liberty, or restore a backup.

welll i would obviously have liberty but is it a bad idea because it didnt work the first time or is that just because i didnt clear cache? and does that mean it will work this time?

I run stock personally. And given your issues thus far, you may be better served to stick to it. But again, your choice.

Liberty will run fine as long as you wiped data and cache before reflashing, yes.

You just said you wiped cache, again, make sure you wipe data too.

Help!! I am having a similar problem, getting stuck on the LIBERTY screen. I pulled the battery the first time the ROM was booting up b/c I was impatient and failed to read the part in the directions about it taking up to 10 minutes to boot up the first time. now it won't boot up at all. when i hold down power and menu I get the green guy with an exclamation point over his head. it then goes into system recovery, but says E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
at the bottom of the screen. can't flash rom or havent figured out if i can run stock. only options it gives me is to a. reboot system, b. apply sdcard:update.zip (doesnt work and get error if i select this) c. wipe data/factory reset and d. wipe cache partition. Any suggestions??? I am really hoping i didn't mess up my phone too bad.

In that screen choose wipe data/factory reset and when done let it reboot again and this time wait. If it throws any errors or won't reboot into the rom than sbf will be your next option.
