Droid X calendar issue

My daughter's first DroidX did this exact same thing! Verizon replaced it and the new one also does it too!

This has to be more widespread but I can't seem to find out anything that will fix it. If you don't use the calendar, please try and test adding events and see if they "stick".

If you do use the calendar please share your experiences. Thanks

I am unable to reproduce the issue; my entries stick. Sorry.

I wanted to share my frustrating Droid X calendar experiences – I too was experiencing the same issues. I would input an event, it would seemingly save – as verified by the “creating event”, and it would display on my calendar but then, within 10-20 seconds, the entry would disappear! I repeatedly tried inputting the events in different ways – some would stick and remain there but many of them were disappearing. I finally realized that the one thing that the ones that stuck had in common was that I was only using the “What” field – with all of the other entries – if I used the “Who”, “Where” or the “Description” fields, the entry would disappear. So, until I find another calendar app and/or Google updates their calendar app, I will only be using the “What” field – the time fields can also be used as they do not seem to effect whether or not the event disappears. I hope this helps someone.

In the same boat.

I am having the same issue (Droid 2). I have tried contacting Motorola and Verizon, no one can give me an answer! I have been all over including the Google calendar help area looking at forums, blogs anything to try and find an answer and no one seems to have one. At this point I have given up because Google calendar is just so unreliable that I can't take the risk. I have been somewhat happy with a Fliq Calendar which I got from the Market. I would still like to be able to color code events and see those codes at a glance in a months view but have not found a calendar that can do this yet. For now I recommend Fliq but will keep looking and let you know if I find something better

I am having this issue too. I tried adding events using just the what field at work just fine. I still wish motorola would fix this issue it seems to be happening to a lot of people. though this is not a permanent fix it seems to get me by, good advice for anybody else with this problem.

Calendar issues, too!!!!!

I just got my Droid X and was looking forward to having a good calendar to keep me organized. I put in 4 entries and then a minute later only one was still there! :icon_evil: This totally sucks and I wonder why so many people seem to have this problem. I hope someone out there can help us all!!!! PLEASE!!!!!! Note: I just tried only filling in the "What" section and not the rest (except for reminders) on about 4 dates and they are still in there.

Calendar Fail

Same thing on my Droid X. Should say, my 2nd Droid X. Sent the 1st one back because of loosing voice turn-by-turn directions (which this one does also) but that's off topic.

I called Verizon support...they never heard of this problem. They called Motorola support for me...who never heard of the problem. Both techs were very nice and promised to report everything. I made sure to mention there are many forums like Droid Forum, with people having the same calendar issues.

BTW, they both suggested a Hard Reset, which I won't do because I know it's just a temporary fix...for both problems.

And if you add to Google Calendar from PC it will sync and stick in your phone, but you just can't add from the phone.

My issue is similar but not exactly the same. With Samsung Fascinate, I can make calendar entries on pc and they will sync with the phone; but if I make an entry on the phone I have to first change it from "my calendar" to the "gmail calendar" every time I enter an event. There has to be a way to make the gmail calendar the default calendar. Verizon tech support could not even help! Any ideas?
