Droid X freezing up this morning anyone else?

solved

just to follow up...verizon sent me a new phone to replace my x that was freezing, and it is all the difference in the world...new one is perfect.

Screen locks

I'm not sure if my problem is similar or the same, but let me describe what happens anyway:

Sometimes after hitting the unlock button, the screen will come on, although very dim, and touch input is disable (somehow). So what i look at is a dim screen that won't let me interact with the phone in any capacity. I can't hold down the unlock button ti restart, I can't adjust volume, etc. NOTHING seems to get it out of this state, even changing the orientation or connecting to the dock.

I sense it has something to do with the light sensor and disabling input when the screen is close to your face?

I'm running no task managers and LauncherPro Plus. I used to run taskpanel, but i stopped because i felt it made my phone sluggish. Any ideas?

Mine will freeze and I have to either wait a minute or hit the power button, it will work after that. It freezes many times a day, sometimes it will work ok for a while and sometimes it will freeze a lot in a short period of time. I will probably be going to the verizon store when I get some time.

If you are having any problems take the damn thing back. Mine has ran rock solid since day one. Mine is also it is Rooted/SetCPU.

I'm having the same problems. It freezes, screen dims and nothing works. eventually it will come back. Also the messaging app is configured for Yahoo mail and MS Exchange 2003 mail in addition to three gmail accounts. The Yahoo and MS Exchange accounts will show the list view of the inbox very quickly but takes over a minute to open emails. Also sometimes it will just exit out of the email randomly.

I'm definitely taking it back tomorrow to the Verizon store for a new one. I love the features but it is nothing but a brick to me if I can't even use it as a phone.

I've had freezing. You touch the screen and nothing. So then yyou touch it like your playing piano getting mad and still nothing. The last time I had to pull the battery. The previous times pushing the reboot button worked. I've experienced lagging but I beleive that may be anti virus or some other program eating up the cpu. I've tried different versions and unfortunately the russion one won't uninstall the stup anti spam thing and I get double or quadruple texts becuase is gives be a copy that says it's been scanned.

We need an app that will clean up the system. Something like a windows registry bad uninstalled app cleaner. I can't get rid of that stupid antspam thing.

FYI, for those reporting issues, are you all running stock? If we are troubleshooting, we should be more structured and give more context to the problem at hand.

1) running 2.1? leaked 2.2?
2) running task killers? if so, delete ASAP
3) what applications did you install that was not part of the stock applications?
4) what power mode are you running on? custom? performance?
5) what widgets are running?

I see all this talk about returning the Droid X, but someone told me that there was a 7month wait for these bad boys... either if you are ordering one or need a replacement..have any of you heard this? I know there is an obvious wait, but 7 months? seems a little far out...

But so far my DX has been awesome... I do notice its a little slow for the first few mins when its first powered up, but that's it.. hopefully i dont have any problems..

1) 2.1 update 1
2) no (just installed one a few min ago)
3) too many to list. antivirus, games, file mgrs, media players, etc.
