Droid X how to's

I have put an .mp3 ringtone I downloaded on my PC into the Music folder of my Droid X via USB connection. When I go to Settings/Sound & Display/Phone Ringtone, I don't see it in the list. Where does it have to be to see it in my choice of ringtones? Thanks.

on the SD card in a file named ringtones NOT in the music folder.

for custom e-mail or text message tones they must be in a file called notifications
