You are just plain factually wrong...Sense UI is arguably (maybe even inarguably) the best UI competitor to the iPhone in existence and the build quality of HTC phones is very high, AND they make their phones comparatively easy to root which is why they have such an awesome community at forum.xda-developers.com.
Please, stop spouting incorrect garbage. HTC is a great smartphone company, overall.
...by the way, you misspelled "kernel" in your forum signature.
something tells me the op doesn't expect objective answers by asking this question in a sub-forum dedicated to the droid x and a forum that favors motorola products.
...but anyways, the answer to this oft asked question depends on the user's needs. the storm II actually does some things (very few) better than both of these phones. i suggest people who ask this question actually learn more about android os and the features of each phone first, then ask more focused questions. of course that requires people to do their own research and actually come up with an opinion of their own instead of being told what to choose. lol

Thank you....Just so you know the inc. isnt a pos like some ppl say...prolly half of them havent even used one...from what i hear the switching screens on the x is laggy kinda like the droid is..hope not or i wont be keeping it---thats what i hated about the droid----the inc is smooth as silk
Especially since the scrolling issue could (and should) be fixed with an update or by using ADW or LauncherPro instead.
I think the decision should really come down to which size you prefer. The Incredible is a fast and smooth phone with a beautiful 3.7" screen. Some people love the Sense UI, some hate it. The X has a bigger 4.3" screen and no Sense UI. It is using some sort of "Moto Blur lite" that is supposedly much less intrusive than previous versions and shouldn't slow down OTA updates. Battery life is supposedly not the Incredible's strong point while early reports say the X does fairly well in that department. So big vs small and Moto vs HTC. Either way, I'm sure you'll be happy.
Remember, no matter what phone you choose, it will be considered yesterday's news before you know it.
keeping it real.... don't think i agree with this. why? one, because this entire forum is still highly slanted towards moto users, even over in the incredible sub-forum. they even have mods over there posting false information about the incredible. two, the droid x isn't out yet and hasn't been vetted by a community of users yet people act like it's the best thing since boobs because it's a "moto" device. not knocking moto because i loved my droid 1, but i've noticed lots of moto snobs as of late and some think it's not a droid unless it has a moto logo on it. i don't agree with that.
in addition to high end specs and all the praise, there are lots of issues surrounding the droid x and sure to be more that haven't been caught yet. so, no, i don't think this question can get a majority of objective answers in either forum on this site. but to be fair, it would be difficult to get a good number of objective answers on other forums too.
all that said, i go back to the original mention of the answer to this question coming down to user preference. but only the user asking the question can determine what their needs are and preference is.
