I received my dx2 replacement and it was bad out of the box. I'm dealing straight with VZW since it wasn't an insurance issue. When I tried to power the phone on the little android dude flashed on the screen then it would go right back off. Called Verizon and the lady I talked to suggested trying to incredible 2. At this point I just want something that works. Get the incredible 2 yesterday and spent a LONG time getting everything loaded via wifi - go to activate it and NOTHING! Called Verizon and had them try to force it on the system. Was walked through the programming to get my cell number in and still nothing. Seriously?? I talked to a nice guy last night who sees that I've have every phone fail within 2 weeks of getting it and offered me any phone other than the iphone. Decided on the Thunderbolt. Get a message today he got it approved - THEN got a call saying that it can't happen. Can not get a warranty replacement and go from a 3g to lte phone period. No exceptions. So - I'm trying the incredible 2 again. I will get it tomorrow and pray it works. Have been with Verizon for 20 years and really don't want to leave but need a phone that works. Talked to a supervisor today and he said I could upgrade early - my question to him was if you were me would you lock yourself into a contract with the hardware experiences I've been having? Original incredible started to fail, replaced. That one failed. Then the fascinate (don't get me started), it failed the 2nd day I had it. Then the x2. Random power cycles. 2nd x2 - bad out of the box. then the incredible 2 - won't activate. Anyone else see why I so freaking frustrated!? Oh and the x2 I was just sent last week didn't receive the over the air update that 'should' fix the power cycling. No way to get it at a store here locally since there are no techs in the KC area - so my option is to have yet another x2 sent to me. No thanks. Settled on the incredible 2 and it better work. Sorry for the rambling but I'm in phone hell. Good luck to y'all with power cycling issues - give the over the air update a try. Maybe it will work.
