Droid X2 Turns Off/ doesnt come out of standby

I received my dx2 replacement and it was bad out of the box. I'm dealing straight with VZW since it wasn't an insurance issue. When I tried to power the phone on the little android dude flashed on the screen then it would go right back off. Called Verizon and the lady I talked to suggested trying to incredible 2. At this point I just want something that works. Get the incredible 2 yesterday and spent a LONG time getting everything loaded via wifi - go to activate it and NOTHING! Called Verizon and had them try to force it on the system. Was walked through the programming to get my cell number in and still nothing. Seriously?? I talked to a nice guy last night who sees that I've have every phone fail within 2 weeks of getting it and offered me any phone other than the iphone. Decided on the Thunderbolt. Get a message today he got it approved - THEN got a call saying that it can't happen. Can not get a warranty replacement and go from a 3g to lte phone period. No exceptions. So - I'm trying the incredible 2 again. I will get it tomorrow and pray it works. Have been with Verizon for 20 years and really don't want to leave but need a phone that works. Talked to a supervisor today and he said I could upgrade early - my question to him was if you were me would you lock yourself into a contract with the hardware experiences I've been having? Original incredible started to fail, replaced. That one failed. Then the fascinate (don't get me started), it failed the 2nd day I had it. Then the x2. Random power cycles. 2nd x2 - bad out of the box. then the incredible 2 - won't activate. Anyone else see why I so freaking frustrated!? Oh and the x2 I was just sent last week didn't receive the over the air update that 'should' fix the power cycling. No way to get it at a store here locally since there are no techs in the KC area - so my option is to have yet another x2 sent to me. No thanks. Settled on the incredible 2 and it better work. Sorry for the rambling but I'm in phone hell. Good luck to y'all with power cycling issues - give the over the air update a try. Maybe it will work.

damn thats terrible hilbee. im not sure ive ever seen any option to download an update for my X2 over the air :(

Its not out yet. It seems the soak tests start tomorrow for certain people. But I will tell you tonight im having weird issues with my check for update function. Instead if getting the usually your device is up to date its telling me up date check is unavailable. Interesting to say the least.

Still powers off a month later

Well guys it looks like gingerbread did not fix this issue at all. Now this time it happens when the phone is charging. Basically over the last 2 weeks i have been late to work because my phone is off in the morning.

All I do is put it on the charger at night. It charges then I wake up and the phone is off!!. This is terrible.

The only way to get it back is to unplug it from the charger and do a battery pull.

ive found a similar issue here

Droid x2 shuts off at night????? - xda-developers

If anyone find a fix please let me know, this is the second droid x2 that i have had with issues shutting off :(

Mine shuts off too.

I'm on my second X2 for this same reason. My second X2 shut off on me yesterday. I'm still in the two week period after renewing my contract where I can return the phone. I'd return it and get an iphone because I know they work, but I've always been anti mac. Come on Verizon! Let's see you guys carry a google powered droid that doesn't have problems. Maybe I'll return it for the iphone this weekend.

droid x2 want wakeup after beong on charger

I have a problem that sounds similar to the ones posted here. I got the new x2 had it for about three months. It started not charging the battery. Went to the verizon store and what did they send me: " a dang used phone" of all things. I fussed and fussed with the manager and the verizon rep over the phone. Nothing helped. Well what do you expect is happening now? The phone charges alright. But, When I leave the phone on wall charger over night it will not wakeup. I have to pull the battery and then it will power on. It want even power off after being charged over night. It has to be a battery pull or it want work. Has anyone experienced this issue? I have had of enough of verizon lately, have you?
