drop down text message notification question

I have an original Droid and it is incredibly annoying when every time I click on a text message notification, it takes me to all the threads rather than the new message. Is there any way to fix this so clicking the notification will take me straight to the relevant thread?

Mine goes right to the message so i think it might be a setting.

Use an app for your text msg's? I currently use sms popup. It has a feature when i get a text i can go straight to that thread from the person sending me the text.
