Being that I have been in the computer business (as a real business) since 1989 I have actually had other people read the EULAs as have I. One in particular back in 1995 who was a reseller of my equipment and didn't understand that installing the same version of software on multiple systems was not legal. I have also been called as an expert witness in a few cases of piracy, so yea, I've read them and understood enough.

Virtually nobody. But they should, in many cases, at least understand what they are agreeing to.

It's likely not the original creditor that places these once delinquent but now paid in full contracts back on the credit report again. Often times debt collectors who might not even have legal right to do so will seek out people who've had bad debts and try to collect on them anyway hoping you don't know any better. It's highly illegal, but they do to anyway since the potential payoff would be very profitable.

The reason I made that comment was because it happened to me. I paid off early termination fees that were not owed at all, late. The accounts were not charged off yet, just late. Several years after having paid the non-owed fees in full, they appeared on my credit report. Put on my credit report by Verizon. I paid the money to Verizon. Closed the accounts due to this kind of behavior from Verizon. Will never deal with Verizon again. Doubt that any of the other providers are any different in this respect. I make certain that whenever the subject comes up, I let others know how Verizon chose to treat me.

How does the at&t compare to Verizon? Around here Verizon is pretty much the best. AT&T just got 4g lte recently. Sprint barely gets 3g and the others aren't very good. Just wondering how your area compares. What kind of plan did you get with AT&T?
