E-mail account notifications sound stopped working after upgrade

After the update, my notifications sound do not work for my e-mail account, matter of fact if I go to notifications, under e-mail setting when I choose a sound I don’t hear it in that setting menu either. I only had the phone for a couple of weeks and I really not sure about all the settings however the notification sound did work before the upgrade. Any help would be appreciated.
