i have a hotmail account which is set up and WAS working initially, but i haven't received any new mail in a few days. when i check on my computer, there's a ton of mail but it doesn't show on my droid. when i open it, the upper right corner has that swirling circle thing like it's trying but nothing happens. it just keeps swirling. in account settings when i check incoming server settings, it stays stuck there (with the swirling bar). any ideas? thanks.

Well, unstick it.;)

Oh you want me to tell you how? Unfortunately I don't remember but I think that Math3w might know how. Send him a pm. There's a little trick to it.

I have a Hotmail account on my Droid as well and I get the little swirling circle every once in a while, but generally it recovers quite quickly. Have you tried rebooting the Droid? If that doesn't help, you may want to considering removing the Hotmail account and then adding it back in again. Here are the steps I used to set mine up:

EMAIL SETUP for POP3 ACCOUNTS: Hotmail POP3 (This also works for WINDOWS LIVE email setup) (non-root solution)

1. From the home screen, pull up the applications tab (at the bottom of the screen)

2. Touch Mail
3. Touch Manual Setup at the bottom left corner
4. In the incoming server settings, enter the details as follows:
Username: [email protected] (enter your complete hotmail address)
Password: enter your hotmail password
POP3 server: pop3.live.com
Port: 995
Security type: SSL
5. Touch Next to continue to SMTP Server Settings and enter the details as follows:
SMTP server: smtp.live.com
Port: 587
Security type: TLS (and check mark “Require sign-in”)
Username: [email protected] (enter your complete hotmail address again)
Password: enter your hotmail password again
6. Touch Next
7. Fill out your personal information (Name etc.)
(If you are having problems be sure that WiFi is turned OFF then try again)

Let us know what happens and good luck! ;)

took about 10 minutes then it worked. but as everyone knows, 10 minutes in phone and computer time is an ETERNITY. especially for a very impatient person such as myself. not sure why it did that as it is not normal. if it continues, i'll try to remove and install. thanks a bunch. aloha.
