EQ/DSP for Android!!

My boot hung too when I tried installing the update.zip

Edit: maybe it's for sp recovery only and not clockwork?

Hmm, I don't think that should matter, it's just copying one file to /system/lib and the other to /system/app. I tried manually placing them and it didn't make a difference.

Does the first boot afterwards take a while? I left my phone on the m logo for a good 5 minutes

Something is wrong with the current update.zip on that site. Do not install.

The DSP Manager update zip on the developer website is for CM6 source based ROMs. Sapphire is not a CM6 source based ROM. Likely the problem.

Some people have installed this no problem with sapphire judging by posts in this thread, so I'm not so sure that's the problem

I am referring to the latest version 15 posted on the dev website. Load up a CM6 based ROM and see if it works.

Perhaps you're correct :p I'm at work right now, but I could check that later on.. Or maybe someone else could!

I had the same install issues when I was trying to add the EQ to Cyanogen 6 RC2. It put me into a splash loop so I had to revert to a backup. Installing RC3, in which the EQ is included, however, resulted in no problems and the EQ works great. I'm sure a lot of people aren't interested in switching to CM6 RC3, but if you are down for that you should have the EQ running with ease once you've got the rom installed.

Strange thing is I have version 14 and it's working fine, it looks like he re-worked the EQ section in the DSPManager.apk app and it's not playing nice with Sapphire.

That's because the DSP Manager dev website download is made specifically for CM6 not Sapphire.

I got that already, I downloaded version 14 from that very same site a week or two back and it works fine with Sapphire 1.0 even though it was also made specifically for CM6.

I was trying to point out something that changed in version 15 has made it no longer work with Sapphire.

I've compared the two downloads I have, the lib file is the same size, the DSPManager.apk has increased in size from version 14 to 15 so I think it's the culprit.

Yes I installed version 14 and it seems to work with Sapphire 1.0.0. The point is that you can not expect any of these DSP Manager versions to run on Sapphire that are posted for CM on the dev's website.

Don't worry, cvpcs is working on decompiling to get the file he needs to put the latest version in the next release.
