[Exclusive] Thunderbolt & Xoom Ready For Launch

With the recent rumors, I am now betting on a March release. I'd say before the Ides of March

lemme ask you guys a question

i reserved the XOOM so that i could get it on thursday, but im most likely going to just cancel the data plan and just tether my droid, so... my question is do you think i should just wait for the wifi only version, i mean if its gonna come out in a week or two then i can manage, but if the wifi isnt going to come out for a couple months then i would rather just pay the extra cash and get it now, plus it would give me the option for 4G if i decide to pay for it later (since its better than 3G tethered)

just sorta wondering what you guys think, im unsure what i should do, if i had my ultimate choice i would pay for the service every month but realistically i wont since i can tether

I say just wait for the WiFi model. The wait should be about a month only, but it'll be worth the savings.

Also, whatever Verizon or Best Buy tell you guys is false. They're still working on the device to insure it 'works' well. The Thunderbolt was never meant to launch February 14th, but was pushed because of the high demand over it. They couldn't meet the deadline and still can't meet the February deadline. Don't expect this this month. I'd say the second week of March is a target date. Just try to be patient and not get mad at Verizon. They promised by the end of Q1 and will deliver.

They promised no such thing. As for your confidence, you stand alone there. If THEY were confident, they would be advertising "Coming March 2011" instead of "Coming Soon" The fact is that this phone, this launch, and apparently the LTE network are being managed by the seat of their pants.

This makes me CRAZY!!!?? I want the thunderbolt, and swore i wouldn't get all wrapped up in the hype. Like I did with the incredible (in which i just got the X after all those delays last summer) i hope this isn't happening again..

Okay... Miami took heat for the whole "delay but I can't prove it 'cause I'm driving" thing and he turned out to be right. Earlier in this thread, he said the Xoom and Thunderbolt would be out by the 24th and he took heat again. Even I questioned his information (but not him) once the Xoom was confirmed and the Bolt was nowhere to be found. Now VZW has made public a TBolt commercial that DOES NOT say coming soon. I'm thinking Miami's sources might just be the ONLY people within VZW who have a clue.

I called two of the local best buy stores and talked to staff members in the cellular dept. From what I gather there is hope for a 24th launch but they both said plan for delays. I was able to talk with Verizon reps on Sunday and according to them "Plan to be here early on Thursday!". I really hope the 24 is the launch date. If it gets pushed back anymore I simply cannot buy this device. The Droid Bionic launch can't be to far away. It will get root most likely contain a signed bootloader with evidence from the Atrix root. Tegra 2 processors just have a better appeal to me then a single core snapdragon for the fact that when the software optimization takes place to make use of both cores a Bionic will still have some life. 4G won't make it to my state til the end of the year anyways.

The time on the devices do not even match. Dummy units! Still looking forward to the release of the XOOM. XDA will have honeycomb ported to my G tablet in no time!

Thank you... Believe me when I say I don't take any of the four I talked to seriously. I hope Miami is correct with his information. I'd really like to get my hands on this device as my contract ends tomorrow the 22nd. I own the original Droid motdroidhoriz hahah and heard some of my favorite Devs will be upgrading to the Tbolt. If that is the case I would like to stick with them. I guess the waiting game shall continue

I'm betting that might be hidden away again. Verizon's YouTube channel has made slips with many commercials for devices by putting them public to early. If its still there by tomorrow morning, then its close. I still believe it wont come till next month. If you guys believe otherwise that's fine and if it does come earlier, even better.
