Try titanium backup to uninstall then .. Is the app under your downloads tab in application manager..

Makes sense... The ROM you are on incorporated FB in it's zip possibly for some tweak.. Maybe sync contacts enable or something I'm thinking..

Titanium backup successfully removed Facebook completely, but the blacked out version still won't install.

What ROM are you on? I'm thinking it's conflicting.. Only other thing I can think of is manually pushing the FB apk using root explorer or similar file manager app and changing permissions..

I'm running the accidentally leaked version of Jelly Bean that came out for the Maxx. Haven't done anything else to it but root it.

It has to be related to the build since it came pre installed.. I'm not sure maybe someone using that version can chime in.. I'd try pushing the themed apk to System/app and setting permissions.. Also let's check.. Can you download FB from playstore successfully?

Did you reboot after you uninstalled the stock Facebook?

I rebooted a few times, still no luck.

I'm able to download Facebook from the store successfully.

Hmm.. I'm not sure.. I downloaded Root browser to test.. It let's me long press and change permissions.. Maybe someone has another idea sorry I'm out of ideas..

What permissions did you grant it? This is what they all have checked off by default.

I got this working on my Razr running the leaked JB ota. Delete Facebook app from data apps & system apps then push to system apps and set permissions & reboot.

Ahhhhhh. I just moved it to the system app folder and was able to grant permissions. I forgot that crucial first step. Installed and works perfectly. Thank you all for your help and thanks for such a nice app.
