Facebook alternative?

The latest facebook app pretty consistently uses 8-25% cpu even when closed with synch/notifications turned off. Friendcaster is as bad if not worse. Any other alternatives out there?

Well you could always use the browser for Facebook and get your notifications sent to you via text msg
