Strange! Was your previous version installed in the /system/app folder? If so, you may need to reboot after deleting it before installing the new one. I was able to install this over 1.5.4 (inverted/themed) without issue.

Nope 1.5.4 bb inverted is in data/app

When installing this I get com.kantana.facebook and it fc's and it is not the "F" icon on the installer its the unknown app icon very weird

try manually removing old one

I had this issue when I used Once from other location then tried to put TheBowers's over it.

If you have root explorer go remove all versions of it then check to make sure its not still in your all apps
In Settings/applications/manage apps/ then hit all apps on top.

IM still running froyo not sure what OS you are on but im sure that will work. I tried it on the Nexus One I have listed on ebay and it went right on over 1.5.4 since it was also done by TheBowers.

Also like previously mentioned if there is any trace of it in system/app you will have to reboot to make it be fully gone.

So after trying every way possible to install the BB1.6.0 , over BB1.5.4, fresh, delete every trace of it, what ever. This is what I get in my app drawer and when opening the com.facebook it fc's

Try just dropping it into the system/app folder, setting the permissions and rebooting?

That is strange, it also installed for me right over the older version...

Try this version. It has some lighter text (Same as the screenshots in post 25). The dark gray text is hard on my eyes.
