Finally Rooted. What rom is the best?

Yea try all the roms. As for the screen turning off that's what gingerbread does. It's part of the phone. Every Rom on gb does that

Ok I was getting kinda worried I might have messed my phone up. It just seemed like it was hard to get it to wake back up.

When you flash a new Rom I like to let the phone settle for a little bit. Once you reboot from recovery just set the phone down and let it settle for a bit. Im not sure if it helps but I never had problems doing that.

I do know some roms do have trouble waking up from sleep. I think it was synergy that I used it would take a while for it to wake up after I pressed the power button. Don't think you broke it, sometimes it is the Rom you are using.
