First OTA update from Verizon DEC 11th

haha not trying to get into a nerd forum fight but, yes I seriously think it's very possible that they sent out 400,000 perfect droids, like mine and then 400,000 lemons.....cause my flash works on the camera and video unlike anyone elses...and i have two friends that received droids and returned them and another friend who kept it, because he had no problems, the others returned them and got new ones and now they work...so yes very possible they sent out a few bad ones.....not a conspiracy, they just didnt test them...

All I am trying to say is that my droid seems to be working great and I think there are either Iphone fan boys making up all those bugs haha or you guys got some lemons....simple

also who cares, I had an iphone, both the droid and iphone are great, att does suck, but both phones are cool, it's so lame to compare the two and fight over which one is better, both do some cool things, I personally love the widgets and colors of the iphone better, but the android os is so much faster and i like the app store for droid and my droid has not once crashed like my old iphone, but I do miss my iphone cause I love apple, but I also love pc and verizon hahah...so stop fighting over which one is better...it's like xbox and ps3, both have good games and graphics, so if you can afford both, get both, dont become a fanboy cause you can't afford the other system

Are you saying that the flash for your camera works or that you have a flash player on your phone? My camera's flash works perfectly, but there will not be a flash PLAYER available for the Droid until next year. I assumed you were talking about the flash player in your last post.

oh not adobe flash sorry i know that's not till 2010, although I can view more pages than the iphone, it can view more pages for some reason....like watch more videos etc...so it has some plugin or codecs that iphone doesnt, but yeah i just find it weird that my droid has no problem...lucky i guess and I have tried everything, I can send multiple texts, send more than 160 characters, I can view flash sites and sometimes they load and I able to save videos and apps to sd card and my calls are clear and bluetooth and navigation work and basically all the OTA fixes are pointless for me casue they already work on my droid....just saying

Some of the problems, maybe mostly minor hiccups are:
using on-screen keyboard gets behind and sluggish.
long wait taking second pic. Side note I noticed when the camera wasn't working due to the timestamp issue, to take a pic the on screen button worked almost everytime, the physical button almost never.
the more Alps you install, the slower the phone is, I've done a system restore twice and its snappy for few days then slows down, rebooting does help.
I can't get accustomed to the physical keyboard yet,do love the on screen one.
the USB mini jack is broke, either I never saw it or it came that way or using home dock causes it, mine work but it is so loose. Verizon. Agreed to send me a new one, one Rep said I broke it, I told him to piss off.

All in all I love this phone, sw needs work but I was expecting early issues. And growing pains, give it time, after the second update it will be a killer! !!!!

Amen to that (LOVE this phone). I too am worried about the mini jack...from the time I saw/used it, day one - just the way it's very finnicky to plug in...I said, "this thing is gonna break." Which SUCKS - b/c then if you don't have insurance VZN is going to charge you for another phone (I know more than one person with the same type of jack that has had to return multiple phones, and one that had to pay for a new phone b/c it was 13 months after purchase and warrany....yet they bind you to a 2 year contract but their equipment doesn't hold up that long - policy is almost criminal IMO). Other thought is "so b/c this design (the port) seems to suck, I guess this phone needs to cost me an add'l $80 per year for insurance - to protect against a faulty/poor design?

I downloaded the update and installed it last night. I've seen an improvement in the call quality. It's a little more zippier and the new lock screen is nice!

Is anyone having trouble Post-update? I got mine late last night, about 1am or so. Since that time my power button hasn't been working, for turning the phone off, making the phone wake up or go to sleep.

Is anyone else having similar trouble???

I received my update last night as well. Saw the new lock screen. My corporate calendar widget changed color. But I don't see much else that's changed.

Is it all just too subtle to notice?

I got my update as well this AM, and everything is fine, except on the lock screen, the clock is now off-center ... is that how everyone else's is as well? i hope not, because its driving me nuts ... any thoughts on how to correct it??

Droid Update

Got my update this am - Had to add gallery back to main screen, it seems a fair bit slower and auto rotate wont work, goes to lanscape mode only when keyboard opened
