flash not bright

When the battery starts to lose charge its voltage drops.

The LED flash puts so much current drain on the batt that it also drops the voltage.

I think the flash not working with a low battery is a safety feature to prevent the phone from shutting down from insufficient voltage. Would you ratherhave your phone shut off every time you take a flash pic with a low battery? Heh
 
Ok, I just got a droid 2 as a replacement for original, and the first thing I noticed was the dim flash. Whereas the original was bright white and blinding, this one is dimmer, almost a yellowish or off white color. Perhaps it takes better pics, I don't know...

As a sidenote, I wouldn't say this phone sucks, but it is in now way better than the original...
