From what I've read FlyX, and _mrbirdman_, are done with the X. Looks like he swapped his X to start working on the Fascinate. Devs are getting fed up with trying to do the impossible. It's time to start realizing the X will never be customizable to the level that power users wish, and it was the beginning of the end of the marketability of Android customization.

I decided to grow a pair with my 2 weeks old DX and went ahead installing the FlyX after reading so much about it. The process of going to a custom rom was a lot smoother than I expected. However, I didn't expect not liking it and went right back to my rooted 2.2. My reasons of going back were fairly simple and they're all known issues posted here:
1. Pandora don't work..which I didn't care that much.
2. Asian fonts (Chinese) no longer display correctly. I care a lot about that.
3. Some "blurs" came back, like news & weather. I found that a bit annoying. But
not a big deal. I uninstalled this a while back.
4. I found no noticable difference in speed, memory, or battery efficiency
improvements.
5. Since the word is out that there's no more support of this ROM, all the noted
issues out there will not be solved. That's important to me.
All and all, I learned something from that whole experience and just wanted to share my part of it, especially to new users out there like me.
Lets not write off the Dx developers yet... Look in rom manager, it has grown by leaps and bounds just in the last week. We are getting closer to ASOP roms by the day and the current flock of roms are intriguing. Plus we have a guarantee that cvpcs is still working on obsidian... If that rom is anything like sapphire on the og droid, we'll be in heaven.
