Birdmans Droid X Rom " FLY X " Is getting finishing touches as we Speak

You are still on 2.1 and that is more than likely the problem. Download the stock 2.2 from ROM Manager and flash it to your phone first then flash FlyX.

I tried that

I get the same results when I try to flash that rom.

Been doing this a while and im the one all my friends come too when having trouble flashing, this is the first phone I run into issues with. My incredible was touchy but I could do them fine.

Not sure what is stopping it.

Im going to restore it to new tomorrow then try from there to flash 2.2 again. So you suggest I go to the stock 2.2 rom first then try flyX. I'll keep this in mind.

on a good note

My nandroid backups work fine, just cant seem to get froyo on my X :(
Kindof looking forward to it since I had it on my incredible and still have it on my all my moto droid 1's.

people, you have to already have the 2.2 leak on you phone. To date that is the only way to install the 2.2 kernel witch you need before you can start loading custom 2.2 roms

FlyX has been running pretty well on my phone since installing it a few days ago. I was able to apply nextheme no problem and other than missing Swype somewhat, it is great. Any info on a v.2 coming? Any other birdman roms on the horizon?
Birdman tweeted yesterday he is unplugging for a while to get RL in order.

Give it a week or so he should be back by then.

I've been looking around on the web and so far I can't find any *details* on what the FlyX ROM:
-looks like
-includes for basic functionality (dialer/contacts/etc)
-has for a UI

I'd really really like something to replace the stock 'MotoBlur' crap "UI" - but I'd like to know what it is before I go through the complicated steps of installing it.

anyone?

How long are you giving it to boot? I know a guy that flashed the stock 2.2 and his phone took an hour to boot but it finally booted.

There are a few home replacements available in the market. I have always used Launcher Pro, and you can't get better than free though there is a paid version for extra widgets that is worth the few bucks.

It doesn't complete the install

It errors on me, before completion of the install. I tried many times and I tried restarteding
clean.

I was lazy but today I'll try to totally start over rsdlite. See what happens from there if I
dont install a theme. I know he has a back to stock file but I tweaked somethings myself
so I dont image it would all work. I'll try with rsdlite and see what kind of luck I have.

So i installed your ROM, worked good until the reboot. Once i did the reboot its stuck at the MOTO load screen.. for a few hours now. I tried to boot into recovery mode with no success and i dont know what to do to flash my previous backup on the phone because i cant access the sd card via usb.. any help??

Pull the battery. Put it back in. Boot into recovery. Wipe data/cache. Reboot. Done. :)

tried it

Ive treied that and I just did again. I fear i must have done some damage to the phone becuase its not recognizing any boot files when i try to manually add them to the sd card from my blackberry.
I have to use my BB because my DX wont boot to the home screen in order for me to put into mass storage mode. Also, my phone will not hold a charge at all.. so if its off the charger, either from the wall or the computer, for more than five minutes i have to plug it back in. The battery status indicator shows up with a "?" on the battery..

HALLP!

Time for you to sbf. I have absolutely no idea why you're trying to use your BB, but thats not going to work at all. The X doesn't boot from the sdcard, so nothing you put there is going to change anything. To boot into the bootloader (different from the recovery), hold down the volume down button and the camera button and then the power. It'll start up the USB so you can connect to your computer to restore. Check rootzwiki for the recovery files and all the directions. Good luck!
