For those with GPS issues in Navi (or possibly Maps as well)

For those who are trying this method. When you are downloading the data from the GPS Status application, my experience is that you have to wait till the information is downloaded and visible underneath the compass. If you just see the compass without the information showing the geo location, then it won't work. Let the info download then proceed with Beardface steps for the fix.
