Unfortunately I started my job about the time they were making huge budget cutbacks. At the time, my hope was I'd be getting a Blackberry and unlimited calls and data and not need a personal phone. Didn't work out, so now I have my personal Droid and a bottom of the line AT&T flip phone for work. I don't understand why they won't let me drop it and use my personal phone, but them's the facts.
Now, I'm on call 2 weeks out of every 3 months and rarely get a call when I am, but always need to have my work phone on me. I want to find a way to forward from my work cell to my Droid so I won't need to carry it all the time. Any ideas?
The best thing I've come up with is to find a cheap old Blackberry on ebay. I can slip my SIM in it and there are apps that will forward both SMS and calls. The only problem is finding a Blackberry that's cheap enough and has a recent enough OS to run these apps. If anyone has a better idea, I'm all ears. Unfortunately, the super-simple idea of dropping the work phone and having my calls go to my personal number just isn't an option.
