Galaxy S21 ultra ( swipe to open problem)

As above, while texting etc keep geting swipe to open message, I have no swipe or pattern enabled, it seems to lock sreen, have to press on button to sort it out, it is becoming a nuisance. advice on how to fix it would be great

I'm sorry I'm not quite understanding so are you saying while you're using the phone it locks on you?

When typing etc it just freezes, pressing the on button sorts it, till it happens again.
I have found out UI 6.1 update can cause this problem, also Samsung made changes to
the swipe to open, seems the only way to get round it is to download UI 5.0.
Either that or do a factory reset, seems I am stuck with it. What are your thoughts on this.

I'm not really sure what to say other than I know last resort is to do a factory reset. Unless you have some app that is causing the issue which in that case you might want to get your phone into safe mode and see if the problem still persist

Thanks for your advice, will try safe mode, failing that will just leave it alone.

Tried safe mode. seemed fine. out of safe mode it still does it in whatsapp, is it worth reinstalling whatsapp? Appreiate your help.

Maybe the app needs an update? You can try to uninstall and reinstall it.

Hi... I did that and thought it was sorted, but it froze again with no apps running, it must be the UI 6.1 dodgy update, I will just have to live with it, many thanks for your help.
