Galaxy SIII Telephone Issues

Yes i agree some other sammy devices are worse off for radios... I am happier with reception with the razr, but do miss the bigger screen and features!

The radios in the S3 are not bad compared to other Samsung devices on Verizon. In my experience, they're slightly weaker than the radios in devices such as the RAZR/MAXX and the Rezound, but they're still pretty good and very usable.

There are many things that impact reception, and geographic location is always one of the major ones. Since there's a lot that goes into a reception that any given person gets, it's tough to say why some some people get good reception and why some people seem to get bad reception.

Thanks, I agree. I'm very happy with the Rezound but was thinking about upgrading to the S3 because of those great specs. Though I'm a bit apprehensive about the S3 issues.

I keep seeing people who don't have the S3 talk about "S3 issues," yet the S3 has been the most problem-free phone I've ever owned (and I've owned a lot). :)

I haven't had any reception changes going from a Droid RAZR to a Galaxy S3. I'm waiting for Samsung to release the fix for cell standby and jellybean. Hopefully it might fix your problem, or try getting a replacement.

I finally got someone at Samsung to admit that there is a known problem with the S3 reception. He told me that Samsung is trying to write a patch to take care of the problem, but didn't know when that might be.
Now I hear that Samsung wants to come out with the S4 in February. Does that mean that they will just ignore this problem. I hope not.
BTW, my Siganl strienght in my house is -114 dBm. My wife's Droid 4, sitting right next to my phone, get -93dBm.
