Gallery and Music folders

I was wondering if there is an app that allows me to select what folders are seen in the gallery and music apps? Or is there a replacement app for gallery? It's a little annoying to listen to music and then to hear my voice popup from a recording i made in tape to talk, or to be browsing the gallery and seeing pictures from apps in there. I just want a little bit of organization.

You can put a blank text file in there and name it .nomedia (no extension).
