Gallery Constantly Syncing

Since I installed the Android Update 2.1, I have noticed my sync icon constantly on. I used the Advanced App Killer to isolate the program that is do the syncing. It is the Gallery. When I kill Gallery in the task manager, the sync icon goes away. Why and how do I disable the syncing in Gallery? I see no menu options in Gallery so I am perplexed.

set the sync for picasa off.

go to setting > Accounts & Sync > your gmail account > Sync Picasa Web Albums - uncheck if you have auto sync on.
