The idea of stealing doesn't sit well with you, yet you admit to doing so. Now that sir is flawed.

I thought I made it clear by now when I said "I don't consider it stealing" and that I rationalized it because of the fact that it causes zero harm to verizon.

What you consider, think or rationalize has no bearing on the fact, that by the terms of the legally binding contract you signed, what you are doing is stealing. Theft of service. I am sure that every thief justified their crime the same way, in that it "causes zero harm". Now you can continue to say its not stealing all you want. That is your choice. I will continue to see it as theft. As I imagine vzw does also.

I never claimed for it to have bearing on fact. I stated it was my opinion multiple times in my previous posts.

You sound like you're calling me a criminal based off of my "theft of service".

And I don't think every thief justifies his crime as "it causes zero harm", I would assume very few do. And the ones that do, are obviously lying. I don't feel like raising a few obvious examples of common crimes.

Ill continue to see it as not stealing. And if verizon really wants to cancel my contract because of 20 dollars, while I'm paying 100 to begin with, then I would simply take my business elsewhere. So, I take the risk, because its incredibly low.

So you are calling yourself a liar? You just stated that those who justify crime with "it causes zero harm" are liars. Just trying to clear that up. And yes, I do see you as a criminal, small time perhaps, but all the same. You are committing a crime, so therefore you, and anyone else who tethers with out a plan is a criminal.

I'm not calling myself a liar, because like I said earlier I don't consider myself a thief.

I also ran a stop sign today, and switched lanes without using a blinker, and I ate a crouton at the restaurant I work at without the managers permission. I'm sure racking up the criminal offenses....

Do you consider yourself a criminal?

I am a criminal. I have also paid my dues for my crime. Can you sir say the same?

Well, for the stop sign yes but that was a long time ago. We're way off topic.

Ill just leave it as this : I tether, but I don't consider it stealing, regardless of terms and conditions etc.

Does anyone know how to broadcast in infrastructure mode instead of ad hoc, so that way my ps3 can recognize my phone?

Again let's say you are stealing regardless of what you consider, etc.

Wireless tether broadcasts in infrastructure by default.

Drop it and get on topic. Or post elsewhere.

And I was pretty sure it broadcasts in ad hoc, not infrastructure.

Oh. So you are a mod now? I was in topic, the one of illegal tethering. No one made you respond to my post. I will continue to post until such time as one of the mods tell me I can no longer do so.

Not a mod. The only reason I was responding to you earlier was because I stated my opinion on the matter, and you went out of your way to attack me.

It seems off topic, if the OP is talking about internet speeds to his xbox, when you're discussing the legality of tethering.

I decided to end it, yet you keep it going. Can we stop now?

Actually, this discussion was one of the better/mature ones I've seen. I've seen twisted panty wars over this issue. These two users respectfully and thoughtfully discussed and debated the issue, until one just decided to take it another avenue when comparing it to the OP's first post.

Which was the first reply abn posted lol

Wow, I always thought gaming with phone would lag like crazy. Have you tried with any PC games?

While tethering 2 gigs of data is the same as using 2 gigs of data in the end result, that being 2 gigs was used, your mobile devise pulls smaller packets of data than your laptop. Tethering has the potential to cost vzw more because their network is not designed for the large load put on it by tethering, and if alot of users in a specific area are tethering it has the potential of slowing down the network for non-tethered users. Regardless of your logic tethering = stealing a paid service.
