General review, complaints, and info

have a very small scratch, no idea how it happened either. Barely noticeable but definitely a scratch...screen is not as resistant as D1, for sure

Back cover loose.

I knew from unboxing vids how hard the cover was to remove. I was as careful as can be but when I snapped it back on, the corner by the 3.5mm jack wasnt snug. Just me?

Stock Keyboard

Has anyone noticed that you have to type certain words slower in order to type them correctly? For instance the, that, there, these, you.......if you try to type them too quickly you get he, hat, here, hese(usually auto-corrects with head), tu, or some other variance of letters. Almost as if the multi-touch isn't working correctly. Anyone else have any issues like this? Would a patch be able to solve this?

What youre saying is just not true. Im having several of these similar issues, not being able to make calls, though its because it says my number is invalid or inactove even thoigh it worked the first day I had it..I haven't tried gps but my weather widget changes cities like every 15 minutes on its own.. I wonder what how woupd do. They think its tower provisioning so they're telling me I have to have no phone signal/capabilities for up to 72 hrs..this is day two.. how would you feel if they told you that?
Perhaps both of you are running the same incompatible app?

Perhaps both of you are experiencing some type of problem with your local connection? I had similar problems with my Incredible and couldn't dial someone's number (and got "number not accepting calls") for reasons neither of us could explain although text messages went through. For others it worked fine.

-- How would I feel? Well, I wouldn't presume anything until I saved all my data using a backup tool and then reset my phone to the factory format and tried again to see if my calls went through, sans extras.

You may not want to presume but you are. Verizon is saying its a nationwide problem theyve been working on for the past two days that has been effecting certain peoples handsets connected to how 4G is relating to some devices.

Kickstand No Longer Laying Flush

Curious if anyone else's Kickstand is no longer laying flush?

When you look at the phone flat you can see the kickstand bumped up a little bit.

Mine's fine but that does concern me. I tend to play with the kickstand with it in my pocket and I doubt it'll hold up to me doing that for long.

haha i love doing that. i feel the need to everytime i put my hand in my pocket or for whatever reason.

maannnn, i love this phone lol.

even all the problems, none of them are HORRIBLE problems, like my Tbolt still runs great.

Cmon, the battery lasts fine and even then i still bought extra batteries and besdies that the phone is just an all around great phone.

HTC is now my fave phone maker lol

Thunderbolt Voice Dialer Problems

I just picked up a thunderbolt and the voice dialer does not work at all. The window opens up briefly, but then never attemps to dial a contact. Is anyone else having the same problem? Tried doing a hard reset to no avail.

Which end are you talking abut. My hinge end is slightly raised and does not lay flush, the tip of the kickstand does though. My phone is brand new so id assume this is normal.

Mine seems to stick out a slight bit more than it did 1st day. I would attribute this to heat from the battery and daily use most likely.

Ok, so here's my beef. I've had the Thunderbolt for approximately 5 days now. And out of those 5 days, I've already been able to create a list of about 6 issues! First of all...it's all of a sudden not letting me make calls!!! What good is a PHONE that CAN'T MAKE CALLS!?!?! (It just keeps saying "Dialing" in the corner, and in the rare instance where it ACTUALLY connects the call, after about 10-30 seconds, it disconnects the call). It's been glitchy as all get out (apps launching randomly on their own, the calender will switch months on me all of a sudden while I'm trying to enter an event/meeting, etc.). The "Fast Boot" feature doesn't work! (it takes JUST as long to boot up as it would with this feature off). The battery has been wish-washy (one day it died after about 5 hours off the charger, the next it will last all day). The GPS is CRAZY slow/glitchy (it takes FOREVER for it to actually get my location locked down, and sometimes once it does, it starts going spastic on me about which way to go, showing I'm going down roads I'm not even on, showing I'm going the opposite direction than I am, etc.). Is anyone else having all the insane issues??? I'm about ready to tell Verizon to shove it, because now I've had a number of issues with 3 DIFFERENT PHONES!! (I had the original Droid, then the Droid X, and now the Thunderbolt..I was originally thinking maybe it was a Motorola thing, but apparently not...).

Sounds like the problem is you dude. All these problems with three different phones? I doubt it.

Actually no, you're wrong. So says Verizon. Its a nationwide problem, which they have put to the top techs to get it resolved..which is understandable since it's a new technology.. but highly irritating to be told you will likely have no phone for 3 days or more after buying it for $288 or around that..
