Get Unstuck from ICS Leak 200 (AKA Upgrading from 200 to 206) INSTRUCTIONS

If we fastboot to .219 if were on 206 we will brick wont we?

Yes you will brick your phone from what I understand.. something about once you've upgraded your kernel you can't downgrade basically.

According to the OP, when we flash 219 using the Razr D4 utility it will skip flashing the kernel because it's prevented from downgrading kernels. At this point you have a mixed 219 and ICS system and obviously you can't run it.

If you try to flash the latest ICS leak it will see the kernel of the older ICS so therefore it won't install because it's looking for the 219 kernel or the kernel for the latest ICS leak.

Now you have to flash the latest ICS kernel. After that you can flash the latest ICS completely because it now sees the latest ICS kernel.

Based on my interpretation, someone has to get the 208 kernel and include it in the Unstick tool. However the post I quoted says:

"Because of this kernel upgrade, you are now able to flash ICS again... even a later version."

And of course there's the problem of retaining root which will prevent me from trying 208.

Im beginning to doubt there even is a 6.16.208 leak. 208 is a leak for the DROID Razr not the DROID 4 as far as we know.

The Razr also has a 6.16.209 leak too so I still say our .206 is the latest leak.

I stand corrected. Get the download from the how-to thread now!

can somebody post the .208 kernel?

The kernel version is the same as 206. The only thing that changed is the base band cdma version. A screen shot of this was posted in the leak thread. It was also reported that you can not go from .206 to .208.

Looking at the Unstick instructions we flash 219, then flash the kernel of the ICS version we want to go to (208), then flash the complete 208 ICS. Is that what your thinking?

I'm also wondering of rootkeeper will stay throughout this process so we can have 208 rooted.

something like that, I want the 208 system hopefully someone whos on it will pull it and post it for me

Someone on XDA tried the Unstick process to go from 206 to 208 and it DIDN'T work.

It was later suggested that it didnt work because the 208 kernel is not available to flash, so we need the 208 kernel.

" You'll have to wait until the process is updated with the newer files.

The process fastboots the latest kernel (.206) but the current system (.219) giving you a non-bootable mix up. Since the OTA updates will update the current version (.219) and itself (.206) it works.

The new .208 required files will need to be used to replace what is in the current "recover .200 to .206" procedure."

That way you'll have the .208 kernel and .219 /system and the OTA should update itself (.208) and current official .219.
