So, bottom line, it may (or may not) be the time (or close to the time) that the D2 and D2G may (or may not) be getting Gingerbread (we think).

D2G is getting GB, Droid 2 (according to a rep at Motorola, and a rep at Verizon) is not.

Phone reps tend to be idiots half the time. In my experience, they're more concerned with collecting a paycheck than helping the customer. And besides, a motorola employee posted on the motorola owners forums that the droid 2, droid x, droid 2 global, and droid pro were all getting gingerbread. Sometime after that, an admin editted his post to remove that information, but there's still screenshots of the post on engadget and other android blogs.

I'm not holding my breath. I hate to say it, but at least Apple stands behind the Iphone.
