Well, I woke up with no update yet. Kind of sucks, but I'm still being patient and waiting for my market to get the rollout. Hopefully what VZW told everyone is true. From what the other forums have said, I've only seen 2 people say they got the OTA...

My wife's DX just downloaded the official OTA .596. Its nearly done the install/reboot.

I grabbed the .596 Deodexed off TBH this morning, about an hour ago, via WiFi.
I'm rebooting now after flashing it over a .588 (3prt)+ .595 build I did last weekend.

I just got the deodexed off mydroidworld, I don't see what all the hype is about. It is the exact same as .591. I see no difference at all.

The first ota is by invite. People got emails of its release. Issues will be monitored. It not biased on Verizon either. Its the red M on boot......

From the last couple of pages, it sounds like a few people are receiving the OTA. Good deal. For those of you that have received the OTA, are you all soak testers and did you manually check or were you just notified that an update was waiting for you?

Yes and I manually did mine since I was anxious. But it was scheduled to be sent.

Just be patient and one will get to all of us with less bugs than the soak. My wife hasn't received hers yet either.

This is such a different process than the Froyo rollout. At 12:01 am we all hit "Check for updates" and started the download. There were no batches. The file size was quite a bit smaller for that though, I think.

Need to unroot to accept OTA?

Yeah and I got the OTA, but I was rooted so it didn't install. Did a factory reset and I can't download it again.

Do I need to unroot my phone to accept the OTA? Right now I'm rooted but I'm on the .340 stock ROM running 2.2.1.

Don't know. It depends on how the soak goes. It may stay the same, it may change.
