Is their a way to empty the trash folder from it? I go into the trash folder and delete messages but they always return.

In the App when you tell it to Archive a email, where does it go???

I believe archived emails do not get auto deleted after a month, or whatever the timeframe is for that. There is an archive folder that they go to.

This is how it is with the gmail 4.0.5. app - I select my account name at the top, then select show all labels then all mail. You'll be able to see archived mail there.
From the phones browser - Go to igoogle or gmail online. Near the top is a button for more options next to the refresh button. Use that to go to all mail.
