Gmail has stopped importing my emails

This worked for my phone.
Upgraded to Gmail 2.3 and no longer recieve eMail notifications on my Droid X - Google Mobile Help

Would be nice to know where else I can find this button instead of having to go into the widget, or have it taking up my screen space.

This was the answer!!!! Unbelievable, I went to Verizon and they had me on tier 2 tech support. The funny thing is where is this option in the settings??? Because even the Verizon guy didn't know where it was?? Because they were trying to tell me how to turn on sync bit no one there knew how to get to it!

From one of the home screens; menu/settings/manage applications/all/gmail/clear data. Gmail will resync itself and should be ok.

Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk

I have done this and went so far as to reset my phone to factory conditions. See above for the answer. I always turn everything off on my power bar to conserve energy (my bionic eats my battery like its candy), but I had no ideas what that button on the power bar was for until now.

Oh geez I think I've discovered the issue, there is a "Power Widget" that you can select from the android widgets on the Droid X, there is a button that looks like a refresh icon, I must have inadvertently set it off while playing with the widget. I turned it back on this am and now I'm getting eMail notifications and the eMail in my gmail widget is current. Unfortunately I don't know for sure what the button on the app turns on or off, I will look to see if I can find the explanation.

This is the answer from the other thread...it is the sync button.

Isn't it in Menu/Settings/Accounts/ and then press on the account title and a new menu pops up?

I did, and everything was checked like it was supposed to be. But I have the power widget open all the time so I can turn things on and off easily. And there is one button symbol that looks like the sync symbol. And if I uncheck it....my gmail won't automatically sync. I didn't know what it was for...but when I read this thread I checked it back on...and instantly I received the new emails that had not been delivered.
