I can't decide if my watch is giving Tapatalk notifications preference over gmail, or if I'm still having sync issues so far today. I've got gmail open in a tab in my browser, which I usually only do if the wife is emailing me about stuff. I got a couple earlier in my browser and scanned my watch quickly. There were notifications on the watch, but they were slightly buried. Also, not sure how long the browser had the counter showing since I was doing other things.
Nope, another failure here today. Just opened my Gmail on my PC and saw 2 emails waiting from the past half hour. Checked my phone...no notification on it.
...and it continues. 2 more times today where I've opened Gmail on my PC, had emails waiting, and there was no notification on the phone. After toggling the sync, the notification would show up but it's not auto-syncing. Worse today than it has been in more recent memory.
BTW, this has all been over Verizon's 4G today though it doesn't seem to matter how I'm connected. It can still fail whether I'm on 4G or WiFi.
Still ongoing. I don't think there's any fix for this issue in sight. Though I'm truly wondering if it's server-side or not...this really only seemed to have started happening after I switched to my S6; this wasn't happening while I had my last phone, a Moto X. I made the switch back in early December...

As somebody who's running MM, don't hold your breath.
But...I just reset my phone this morning coming back from the N preview, like I think I mentioned earlier...and I'm pretty sure it's syncing better than it was previously...Not ready to call it completely fixed yet, but looking good so far.
Mine is still borked. Just manually refreshed it and had a message in my inbox from 5 hours ago. I'm on a Note 4 that hasn't seen any updates in a long time. Especially not since the issue started or even just prior.
I think I'm going to hunt down a place at Google to post the issue and see what the response is.... If any...
