I got conflicting information before I went too. Verizon needs to get better training on International stuff. I've only seen one bill so far, and it was correct...I'll post next month if they mess up.
PS. When I went to different cities, I got "pushed" a local subway map in my gallerias! HOW did they do that. Very cool. But still couldn't read the Tokyo map.
