RE Good anti virus
I think Joeybarclay has the best approach. Lookout seems pretty OK, and has some features that could be useful in some situations.
What I wish I could find is an app like the old Zone Alarm that would pop-up a mesage saying such and such program was attempting to connect to xxx.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx IP address...
I'm most concerned about programs I have installed that may open back door communications that I don't want; if not for security issues, just for power saving reasons. I've tried to be selective and just install highly rated and programs that make sense to have. But I seeing these new apps and think - wow that's kinda cool..
Now I have probably 20 or more programs many of which I granted permission for network access. I'm kicking myself as I'm writing this.
Lastly, does anyone know of an app that inventories installed apps, reports on apps permission requirements and lists permissions granted?
