Well, decided I'm returning the Droid. It's an awesome phone but I'm on my second one in as many weeks. My new replacement phone not only has a loose slide but a crap battery. I had it sitting on the charger last night, went to dinner and a movie and the battery was at 30% when I got home. Woke up this morning and 10% gone withing 30 minutes, no apps running.

Hopefully they will have a more dependable product in 6 months or so.

Thanks for all the assistance Droid Forums, this place is pretty cool.

Later.

Sorry to see you go Tillers.

Not sure why you had such severe battery drain but that is not normal. You've been here long enough to know how to troubleshoot (shutting down GPS, IM clients, WIFI etc etc). So I'm assuming you did that and still got poor battery life?.

Take care.

what phone are you getting next? good luck

unfortunate to see you go. curious as well though... what device are you switching to?

Tin cups and string, no battery issues there. lol j/k

Being the new kids on the block with the latest and greatest gadget always has its ups and downs, bugs and updates are always part of the deal, some can deal with it, some cant.
I would say your 6 mth time frame should get you something more suited.

Thanks for playing and see you then. ;)

perhaps a simple free battery swap (like Verizon gave me) would have saved countless headaches. I have to say that 90% of the complaints I see on these boards are due to user error, more than realistic expectations and inability to walk back into the Verizon store to exchange.

My phone has been on for 24 hours and I'm at 70%. I used GPS yesterday to navigate in the city, worked flawlessly. I don't ask it to make my coffee, wash my clothes or replace my laptop. Is this device for everyone, NO! it's for the geek, the tweak, but not for the meek.

wonder how can you get out of the contract. I would take a good look at the N1, just my 2cents

Really???? My Droid is Awesome and the slider is good and my battery doesn't run out like that, but it does depend on what apps your running or other things that could run the battery out. Good luck on the next phone you will get.
:)

don't blame you on the frustration. I just don't get why it is happening. I get remarkable time compared to all other smart phones I have had.

I doubt the O.P. would want new headaches with T-M.

Shame you left so soon. My phone has been off the charger for the past 6 hours and still at 90%. Something was draining it. Hope your next phone works out for you, but I am still thinking you could have resolved the Droid issue.

yes, very strange. Mine has been off since 9 this morn and I have been using it extensivly using the market for app downloads and setting them up, emaols, calls and text, it is at 70%! I must just be a lucky one and have a busy enough Verizon store that they blew through the bad shipments and got a good one. I have expirenced no problems with the slider, battery, freeze ups, ect, now that I say that though I am sure I will get those in the next 36 hours!!! lol
