Google I/O Announces Google Music Player 3.0 is Available in the Market

Today at Google I/O that The new Google Music 3.0 app that will sync up to the new Music Beta service is live and in the market. Music Beta will be available to US-based users for now, and it will be free, also for now. The service will be accessible with invites at first, similar to what Google did with Gmail back in the days... Go to the Market and Try it!!!

I was just going to start this very thread. I went to dl this app and it says unsuccessful download. Maybe cause I'm on liberty? I would like to try this out though.

What if I'm on an HTC Sense phone, would this be separate or overwrite the music app?

Nevermind, got it working!

How does one aquire an invitation!?

Man, I have been waiting for this for a year now. I can't wait for my invite

Has anyone gotten their invitation yet? I sent for the invite but have not gotten it yet. Yes I am impatient lol.

Just sent mine. I hope we get one. Will this be free or will we eventually have to pay for it? Will this be available only on Google devices? I'd love to get this and free up space on my sd card. And the least, I will finally have a decent music player that I could choose "All Songs" when going through an artist instead of being forced to choose an album!

I'm going to assume that it will be free for a bit while it's still in beta, but as things get more finalized, Google will put a cap on the total space you can upload to their cloud. I'm sure it will be free for maybe a gig or two, but they may start charging for higher storage.

I'm excited for this too! I've been using the Amazon cloud which has worked very well but would prefer google, so that everything's tied together.

OK I got it installed. I just needed to freeze the music app (liberty) to install this one.

From what I've read. People who attended the I/O already got invitations. Next it's going to XOOM owners. Then the invitations will start rolling out to everyone else.
