Google I/O Announces Google Music Player 3.0 is Available in the Market

I'm unable to install it. "package file was not signed correctly", is the error message I get.

You need to uninstall your music app. I'm on a custom rom and i was getting the same message until I uninstalled the music app that came on the rom. It will work then

Anyone having issues installing it? I have a rooted OG Droid running 2.2.2 with the default music app. When I download Music version 3 I get the following installation error. "Application cannot be installed in the default location". I even tried freezing the default app. No luck. Any ideas?

I'm also running the same setup as you, and I've been unable to install the new app. The error message I get is "Installation unsuccessful.", and that's after clearing Davlik cache, clearing all data within the Music app, AND freezing the application via TiBu as well. I even unmounted my SD card, as that has worked for me in the past, but that didn't work this time either.

I doubt it has anything to do with the original music app. I never uninstalled it and I'm on a custom ROM (GPA). Which ROM are you guys on?

Liberty 2.0 and it only installed when I froze my music app. The same thing happened when I went to install linear black facebook (themed app). I had to uninstall facebook to get it on there

Either use a script or a file manager with root access to rename "music.apk" to something like "music.old" in the system apps folder. That MAY do the trick. I can't test that though as it installed perfect on multiple devices for me.

Pretty nice but Iwill stick to my 160 gig iPod..NOw if they can get a phone to hold that much music I will be in HEAVEN!!!!

THEY will before anyone else does. THEY'VE gotta hold something back though.

(THEY being Apple)

Won't download for me. I keep getting "Package file was not signed correctly"

Try freezing or Uninstalling your stock music app. Thats the only thing that allowed me to install this (I'm on liberty 2.0.1).
