I have done everything I could do to get this navigation to locate where I am, and not only has it failed to recognize where I am, it is telling me that they put a McDonald's on my street, that is got to be the best. I don't know if I should return this phone. I am open for suggestions.

I've never once had a problem with my GPS, it finds me once it finds the satellites, usually takes about 30 seconds. It gets me to about 10 meter difference, sometimes less. That's pretty dang good in my opinion. If you can't get your GPS to work at all, and no matter what you do it's telling you that it can't find the location, then best to call the tech support and see if they have any other options, you may just have a defective GPS reciever in the phone.

No I understand what your saying the google maps app is kinda shady. Sometimes it takes for rver to find my location then tells me it can't only for it to show up. I hate to say it but the maps were more polished on my iphone.

I have to agree with New!
I have worked with the Google maps, and found no issues.

You can even watch the location icon go from a large circle area to pinpoint your location as soon as the satellite is located.

Even when you go into layers and enable the "satellite" mode it takes a little longer for drawing the maps as you are moving, but works very well!!!

Love this GPS function!

You know what's really scary? When I pinpoint myself on the Google map, it even pinpoints it in the area of the house I happen to be at the time I'm enabling it. That is really sort of scary - but shows how accurate it really is.

Same here, Vulcan. It's so accurate that I can watch myself go from location to location inside my house or on my property. Scary but cool. :)

the ota update on dec. 11 is supose to fix all that

lol fix what? an application that's working correctly for about 80-90% of the people? From what i've seen is that people want it to work as soon as they open the program up. They don't want to have to wait for the satellites to pinpoint their location. If it's not there as soon as they pull it up they say it's broken (not saying that's happening this instance but in alot). If you see the satellite icon on the top still blinking, it is trying to find your location and pinpoint you, once it stops that means it's located the satellites and will update you location soon. I wish people would stop saying oh well this is better on my iphone... as stated by like 100's of people, the iphone and apps have been around for years. Where those for this phone have been around for all of 2 months.

I'd suggest that you provide more details on "everything" that you've tried to get it to work if you're looking for help. Have you always been outside? In most cases you can't get a satellite lock if you're indoors. Have you actually enabled it to use GPS via Settings->Location & Security->Use GPS Satellites?

With what you've given us (and thanks for the many exclamation marks -- those really help) the problem could be anything -- including defective hardware which was mentioned above as a possibility.

Just got back from a business meeting and used Google Maps. Worked perfectly. I think it's incredible...

Took all but 5 seconds to locate my position.

Concur with all of the above. No problems here. At all.

And if you happen to be trying to use your GPS inside your house, I'm gonna say the same thing to you as I did to my friend: show me a single STANDALONE GPS UNIT that can pick up any satellites from indoors, and I'll yield.

As stated in many posts there is not enough information provided to accurately give a even remotely possible explination. Just making the statement google maps sucks carries no merit. Provide more info please

I have read some of the problems people have had with the navigation, and so I uninstalled Weather Bug as one had suggested, went into settings and made sure the satellite was enabled, I even uninstalled the google maps upgrade, I uninstalled dolphin browser, and I am standing outside almost hypothermic attempting for a satellite to pin point me, and still I am located a block away. This is frustrating especially when I spent a ton of money on this.

As stated you may just have a faulty GPS. If you have done all that and your still not getting a lock on your location, then that is what i would point at.
