Google Music Beta

I'm having problems with this as well--phone is rooted, DC ROM Beta v9, supposedly set to use my Google account (have to accept a permissions setting when first using the app), but all I see is the music that was already there. I'd love to offload much of that and free up some space, but no apparent way to do it--no Settings menu.

Do I need to have the Music Manager installed on my (a) PC to get this working? The invite came today, but I'm behind a corporate firewall and apparently can't install the Manager to this PC. Maybe the device app won't recognize the invite until that's done?

You have to upload from a PC.

After you do that you may have to uninstall/ reinstall to get it to take.

Sent from my A855.

The "new" MUSIC app will not work (AFAIK) with an unrooted droid_og. The stock music app will not let it install, as the stock app is a system app and the new app would be a market install. I could not get it to work on my rooted droid (CM7) until I froze the stock app. Just got my invite on Saturday and am uploading music now.

This is false, it works just fine on my stock OG Droid.

When I downloaded the music beta app while flashed to GPA15, it installed it side-by-side with the old music app. When I flashed to an OTA image, it wouldn't install it til I uninstalled (with TiBU) the old music app.

How does one "freeze" the stock music app?

The only thing I had to do was remove the old music shortcut from my home screen and add the new one. I never had to uninstall/freeze anything, and my phone is stock and has never been rooted.
