Google Navigation Voice changed

Not the same issue but a cousin, I don't get any voice directions anymore. Just happened recently. Is there a way to check if I've accidentally hit the wrong button .
I just checked my settings everything is turned on and the voice is very human sounding.

Silly question, but are you sure your volume is up? I forget whether it's media or system volume that controls that. Easiest way to check that is to start a navigation session & immediately turn the volume up.

There is a mute button in navigation as well under settings.

Couldn't remember if there was, but you're right. I mute it when I stop for gas/etc on long trips.

I will definitely look for the mute button tomorrow, that really sounds like the most likely because it would be easy to hit it while driving.
