Google patent seems to show an all-glass, notchless Pixel 4 smartphone

It's not too shabby... I pre-ordered with a trade in but then changed my mind and cancelled order [emoji16]

I pre-ordered without a trade-in (see my commentary on trade-ins to see why I don't do that). Can't wait to get it in hand.

Picked up the black XL 128 GB version. Didn't feel like waiting for white and the orange was sold out at the time I ordered. Plus I'm always rocking a case on my phones so color really don't matter to me.

Playing with the demo at best buy. I really wish they had orange and white there to look at.

Definitely nice feel in hand I can see using no case ... Lol

Pixel 4XL just arrived in the mail. Just Black, but I'm an old dude. Is it possible to setup using NFC, or do we have to use the cord. My pixel 2XL was easily setup with NFC, as all passages were set exactly as I had them on the prior device.

Hahaaaaa, this baby works like a charm. Easy peasy transfer of all info, and setup is exactly as I had it. Operation is smooth as silk, and coming from the Pixel 2XL, the device looks exactly the same albeit with a slightly larger screen.

Congrats my friend... I'm looking forward to hearing some thoughts and reviews after you run it thru the paces

I've been an Android fan from the original Android. And IMHO, the earlier Google Nexus and now Pixel line of devices are the truth. YMMV
Decided to run a speed test this morning to check out how this baby flows, and as you can see in the pic, it absolutely smokes in the wifi download. (Sorry, haven't figured out how to post the pic, however it ran 197mbps download, and 12.2mpbs upload.)

I know the rave is all about the cameras, and to my untrained eye it does take very nice shots, though time will tell. Functionality is rock solid, and though the dimensions are about the same as on my now retired Pixel 2XL, they've added nearly ½" of screen size by moving the bottom speakers from the face to the bottom edge of the device. Nice stereo sound, at least as far as what you can produce in a device this size. All in all, it's a keeper.

I'm kind of conflicted right now. I absolutely love my Pixel 2 but I got it at launch and battery life is starting to be an issue. In addition some changes in the work life now require a phone that can hold on better with longer times between access to a charger, and/or in low signal environments.

So at this point I know I'm going to have to go up to the larger size phones with bigger batteries. I was really looking forward to the P4's but honestly, I'm kind of non-plussed now. Really the only "new" thing that really has any interest to me is the on-board Google Assistant. I've some issues with Assistant "not being available at this time" while on the road. Most notably on while my motorcycle. It makes it impossible to use voice dialing without the assistant at the time I need it the most!

As much as I would miss the monthly updates and near immediate OS updates, I have to wonder if the Samsungs would better suit my particular needs right now. Specifically thinking about battery life and screen brightness for outdoor viewing. I'm not in a big rush at this point, so I think I'll keep look at the S10+ and wait to see what the S11's bring.
