Google Pixel 6

Still nothing OTA for me. I'll give it another day or so before considering alternatives. [emoji848]

I was going to wait but I just can't help myself lol. If Verizon comes out with another build I'll just flash that over it lol

What are folks using for media players? I want to listen to mp3's direct from a SSD (it has both WMA and MP3's on it)

Seems my P6 only reads the WMA's both will not play them. Do I need to download one? Which are a good fit for Android 12?

(is there a better sub forum for these questions?) thx

Android hasn't played WMA format music for years now. I use VLC Media Player to play my personal music that isn't in the YouTube Music cloud. It works good for me. I'm sure there are similar apps for playing offline music.

Thanks got the VLC app. Put SSD in PC, files (WMA) play fine. Put in the SSD in the P6 and VLC states No media files found,

rebooted P6, no help.

Any ideas?

You put a SSD in a Pixel 6?

Where on the Pixel did you paste the files, which internal folder? I have about 8 albums on my phone and VLC sees them.

Yeah, just plugged in the external SSD device to my Pixel.

Looked around the phone, and in VLC, but do not see the files. Also opened the Files folder, downloads,
but it is empty.

what else might I try?

Is the notification drop-down showing file transfer not charging or other options ?

I don't have time to post all the detailed steps (family visiting this week) but here is a copy & paste from the Google user manual page:

Transfer files between your computer & Pixel phone

Move files with a USB cable and a
Windows computer:

Unlock your phone.
With a USB cable, connect your phone to your computer.
On your phone, tap the "Charging this device via USB" notification.
Under "Use USB for," select File Transfer.
A file transfer window will open on your computer. Use it to drag files.
When you're done, eject your phone from Windows.
Unplug the USB cable

I put my music files in the Internal folder named Music and VLC plays those albums for me.

Thanks for that. Is there also a way to load music files to Android 12 without useing a computer?

I'm not sure. If the Pixel 6 series supports OTG (on the go) storage you might be able to copy music files from a USB storage device to the phone internal storage.
