Google Releasing DIY "App Inventor" - App Creation Tool

Amazing! If this works well then you wont have to want for apps any more. There are ideas for lots of apps that would be useful for small groups of people, but they dont get made because such a small number of users doesnt usually justify the effort to a developer to make the app and have it added to the market. Now we'll be able to have apps specialized to serve smaller groups of people. Depending on how well this works I can already see myself making several applications for use within my fire department.

just signed up - cant wait!!!

for all those ones on here smart enough to do it but too lazy to take the time
ah thats totally me. i've done lots of java programming but i just don't have the time or the want to sit down and relearn it for this. yay google

Holy %#!%

Skipping over the potential for Market-worthy apps that will come out of this, this will take custom ROMs and even moreso, customization of our individual phones to another level. Anyone and everyone can get the same themes, fonts, etc. Showing off a custom app for FB and Twitter notifications is something else. WOOO HOOOOOO!!! dancedroid

Signed up, now I can finally make that Terminal Emulator that reads my Mind and the Shave on the Go app "Pinch to Groom"

I think this is a great idea and I can't wait to try it out. I just hope it doesn't discourage real devs from jumping on the Android bandwagon, or make the devs we already have mad.

Great, now more morons can fill our market with complete crap...

..OR business owners can now easily make apps for their employess and/or customers!! I have been wanting to make an Android app with all the technical specs and tech support information for a certain sports car for my customers. If I can get it right, it would even reduce my tech support phone calls and e-mails...AND give me a further leg up on my competitors.

The applications for this could be VERY interesting!

OH, and yeah, no doubt it will increase the crap apps on the Market too....:)

So uh...One question. Whats going to happen to those folk on AT&T that aren't rooted or have a custom rom and only have the ability to load apps from the Market? Kinda sucks for them. This is one of the few times I'm glad I'm on Verizon.

this is so awesome I most definitely will be making some apps I already have like pre app ideas written down lol I just never had the time to learn how to make the apps
