Google Talk -- Does it count as text messages?

Does sending messages through the Google Talk app count as sending a text message if you're on a limited text message plan?

Or does it fall under the unlimited data part?

no it will not count against your SMS plan. It's free to use.

Think of it this way. If you get the message in Google Voice only, it is data. If it comes through a messaging app like handcent or "messaging" then it is sms.

If you are using Google TALK it will not count against your SMS plan..

Were you talking about Google Voice? There is a difference.

I'm asking about Google Talk....the same thing as the little chat bar on the left when you're logged into gmail online.

You can also use GV without it counting against your VZW text plan as well. I've verified this through my bill online. Any texts I've sent or received through GV haven't shown up on my messaging portion of my bill.

It's built in to your phone. Look for the shortcut labeled "talk"

On the online verizon bill does it show up as DATA SHARE TALK & TEXT and not regular text or minutes used? Trying to catch a cheating husband would love any help!
