Morning everyone. I am not meaning to rub this is so please don't take this the wrong way but, I'm active duty and have been looking to get a GV account. A friend of mine pointed out the fact that if you register with a .mil e-mail account, you get priority. I tried it on Friday and sure enough, Sat I got an account request from google....It was sent here to my .mil account so I didn't get it till today but, I just wanted to let anyone that has a .mil account know, they are looking out for us.
To all asking for an invite: If you want one, go to eBay and buy one for $1.50. It's like paying for a double cheeseburger on the McDonalds dollar menu. I waited for mine from Google, and asked here several times. I finally bought one, and have it running. Once you get it up and running, then you can join the discussion on how to get it working properly!!
I am glad I can contribute. Let's start figuring out how we can make this a better application. BTW, if they ever do give me the offer to provide invites, I will. So far, I do not have that option.
THANK YOU! you are the bees knees man, thanks for realizing some of us dont even have a dollar 50 to spare, especially after buying a 300 dollar phone!
You would think that they would sign us up for the service automatically since it comes on the phone we paid 300+ bucks for? I mean they sent me an "Android Welcome" email on my gmail account, so they know I bought their phone.
I'll take an invite if anyone is willing. My gmail account is the same as my username on this forum.

Well to be fair, only a small amount of the Droid users are using Google Voice, and GV also is in beta, Android is not. Plus it doesn't actually come on the phone at all, you have to download it from the app store. That's very telling, if they actually pre-loaded GV on the Droid for all of us, then yes.. the invites should be open.
